Google has Google Docs and Microsoft has MS Word. Both the tools are used for the same purpose but the file format is different. Google Docs is an online tool so you can only use it online. If you want to use the other tools docs file in Google Drive you need to convert. How to convert the other Docs file format to Google Docs format at the time of file upload. You can do a small configuration on Google Drive you can achieve this.
Follow the below steps to know more.
Step 1: Open Google Drive on your browser.
Step 2: After opening, you will see the Settings option on the top right side shown in the below screenshot.
Step 3: Select the setting icon dropdown will open in the select settings option.
Step 4: Now settings screen popup will open in that you can see the Convert uploads title with checkbox Convert uploaded files to Google Docs editor format.
Step 5: Just tick the checkbox and click the Done button given top right of the popup.
Step 6: Now it will convert all your upload docs files to Google Drive Format once the file is upload to Google drive.
