Simple easy steps to apply for a new Family Card in Tamil Nadu through online. Before applying for a new card you must remove your name from your old card and then only you can apply to the new card

What are the documents you need to apply for a Family Card?

First, the important thing is you must have Aadhaar Card for all the members who are all going to add to that particular new card.

Passport Size photo for the family head.

Address proof document with the Family Head's name.

They give the list of documents they accept as address proof what are they:

  • Aadhaar Card
  • Electricity bill
  • Frontpage of passbook
  • Gas Consumer Card
  • Property tax in case of own house
  • Passport
  • Rent Agreement (For Tenants)
  • Slum clearance board allotment order
  • Telephone bill
  • Voter identity card
  • Bonded Labourers release certificate

Important: They did not accept the Aadhaar card as address proof but they given in the option. You must give any other document for Address Proof in that above list other than Aadhaar.

Now go to this website https://www.tnpds.gov.in/home.xhtml and select Apply New Smart Card option present on the right side of the screen.

After selecting the option it will take you to the new page. On that new screen at top of the page, you will see the New Ration Card Application select that.

Now you will fill the form with your details, Name of Family Head, Father's / Husband's, Address, Mobile Number, Email, etc.

After filling in the above details You must add the Family member detail by clicking the Add member option.

Add Members

After clicking the Add member they automatically take the family member details at a first family member and you must enter personal details and upload the Aadhaar document.

After entering the first family member detail then you can add the other member detail one by one.

Once you add the family members' details you can choose Card Option, Proof of residence, and upload the residence document and finally tick the check box and gas connection details if you have the gas connection at your have you must give the details there.

Gas Connection Details

If you do not have the gas connection on your family members name leave the check box empty.

Check the second checkbox Declaration and click the Submit button.

Now it will show all the details you entered you can verify all details are correct and click the proceed button to submit the form it will generate the application number and show it on screen. And also send it your given mobile number as a text message.

You can track the application status with that generated application number. Go to the home page and select the Smart Card Application status option on the right side.

Now you check the status of family card your application is accepted or not.
