Firefox two factor authentication to protect your browser information from others.

   
Enable 2FA On Firefox

Firefox recently introduces the Two Factor Authentication to protect your browser information like password, browser history etc from the others. If you using the Firefox browser on your computer or in mobile you have synchronised your browser on your both desktop and mobile devices.

And if you log in to any website you can save the username and password in your browser itself for next time login. Most each and every website have different password policy you can not remember your all password in your memory so you can save the password in the browser itself.

If your computer or mobile phone will access by any another person they can easily get all your information from your browsers like important username, password and browser sessions. It will be not safe for your information.

Firefox what to protect you from this kind of activity by 2FA called Two-factor Authentication. It will add another one layer of protection for your logging accounts. With 2FA, the site you’re logging into will send you an SMS to your phone or will generate a code through an app on your phone, which you can then enter into the site to confirm authorization.

How to set up this Two Factor Authentication.

If you want to setup the 2FA for Firefox you need the Firefox account. If you have Firefox account means you can log in to the account is not an issue. If you don't have the account means just signup to the account with your email account.

Where I want to create the Firefox account?

Just open your Firefox browser and click the line menu button present on the top right side of the screen. Just click the menu button now dropdown will open in that you can see the first option sign in to sync.

Click the sign into sync option it will take to sign in form enter your detail and login to the Firefox account.

Not have the means just create an account.

The first thing you’re going to need to do (if you haven’t already) is download an authentication app on your phone. You can pick any one of the following free apps: Google Authenticator, Duo Mobile, Authy 2-Factor Authentication from the corresponding app stores.

After login you can see the screen like this now click the Manage Account it will take to another page on that page you can see the list of option related to the Firefox account.

You can see the fourth option Two-step authentication near you can see the Enable Button. Just click the Enable button to enable the 2FA for your Firefox account.

You’ll see a QR code that you need to scan using the authentication app of your choice.

Enter the security code that your authentication app generates and enter it in the Security Code field and click Confirm.

Firefox will offer up recovery security codes that you can print, save, or copy. You can use these to log into your account in the event that you can’t access your authentication app.
