Linking your Aadhaar card and PAN card is a simple process and can be done in the following ways:
Linking Aadhaar card and PAN card online:
a. Visit the Income Tax e-filing website - https://www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/home
b. Click on the "Link Aadhaar" option under the "Quick Links" section
c. Enter your PAN number, Aadhaar number, and name as per Aadhaar
d. Click on the "Link Aadhaar" button
e. If the details provided by you match with the details on your Aadhaar card, your Aadhaar and PAN card will be linked successfully
Note: Make sure that your name, date of birth and gender on your Aadhaar card match with those on your PAN card.
Linking Aadhaar card and PAN card through SMS:
a. Send an SMS to 567678 or 56161 in the following format:
UIDPAN<SPACE><12 digit Aadhaar><SPACE><10 digit PAN> For example: UIDPAN 123456789012 ABCDE1234F
b. If the details provided by you match with the details on your Aadhaar card, your Aadhaar and PAN card will be linked successfully
Linking Aadhaar card and PAN card through a physical form:
a. Download the form for linking Aadhaar and PAN card from the Income Tax website
b. Fill in the required details
c. Submit the form to your nearest NSDL e-governance center or UTIITSL center
d. Your Aadhaar and PAN card will be linked within a few days
Note: It is mandatory to link your Aadhaar and PAN card for filing income tax returns.
