How to Update to iOS 16.5

Apple Releases iOS 16.5 with New Features and Bug Fixes

Apple today released iOS 16.5, a minor update to its mobile operating system. The update includes a number of new features and bug fixes, including:

  • A new "Sports" tab in the News app, which provides users with a central place to find sports news and scores.
  • A new "Shared With You" section in the Photos app, which shows users photos and videos that have been shared with them by others.
  • A new option to make Apple Cash payments directly from the Wallet app.
  • Bug fixes for a number of issues, including one that caused some iPhones to lose cellular service.

iOS 16.5 is available now as a free update for all eligible iPhones. To download the update, go to Settings > General > Software Update.

Here are some of the key features of iOS 16.5:

  • New "Sports" tab in the News app

The new "Sports" tab in the News app provides users with a central place to find sports news and scores. The tab includes a variety of sections, such as "Top Stories," "Scores," "Schedules," and "Teams." Users can also follow their favorite teams and leagues to get the latest news and updates.

  • New "Shared With You" section in the Photos app

The new "Shared With You" section in the Photos app shows users photos and videos that have been shared with them by others. The section is located in the For You tab and includes photos and videos that have been shared via Messages, AirDrop, and other apps.

  • New option to make Apple Cash payments directly from the Wallet app

With the release of iOS 16.5, users can now make Apple Cash payments directly from the Wallet app. To do this, open the Wallet app and tap on the Apple Cash card. Then, tap on the "Send" button and enter the amount you want to send. You can then select the recipient from your contacts list or enter their phone number.

  • Bug fixes

iOS 16.5 also includes a number of bug fixes. One of the most notable fixes is for an issue that caused some iPhones to lose cellular service. Other bug fixes include fixes for issues with the Messages app, the Camera app, and the Mail app.

If you have an eligible iPhone, I recommend updating to iOS 16.5. The update includes a number of new features and bug fixes that can improve your experience with your iPhone.
